What to Know

What Is an Iron Infusion?

An iron infusion delivers iron directly into your bloodstream through an IV, replenishing your body’s iron stores far faster than oral iron pills. Like our other IV therapies, it bypasses the digestive system entirely. It is most often used for clients with low iron or iron-deficiency anemia — especially when oral iron isn’t well tolerated, isn’t absorbing properly, or simply isn’t working fast enough.

At SWFL Health and Hydration, every iron infusion is administered by a Licensed Registered Nurse at our Fort Myers medical office inside Apex Physical Therapy — convenient to Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs, and Naples — with protocols reviewed and supervised by Dr. Greene, our Board Certified Medical Doctor. Because IV iron is a clinical treatment, it is offered as an in-office service only and requires a referral from your own medical provider.

The Benefits

Why Choose an Iron Infusion?

For the right candidate, IV iron offers advantages that oral iron supplements can’t match.

🩸

Replenishes Iron Faster

IV iron is delivered straight into your bloodstream, restoring depleted iron stores far more quickly than oral iron, which can take months to rebuild levels.

💊

Gentler Than Iron Pills

Oral iron commonly causes constipation, nausea, and stomach upset. An infusion bypasses the digestive system, which many clients find far easier to tolerate.

Supports Energy & Focus

Low iron is a common driver of fatigue, weakness, and brain fog. Restoring healthy iron levels can help support everyday energy and concentration.

🎯

For Poor Absorbers

When oral iron isn’t absorbing — due to GI conditions or other factors — IV iron offers a direct route that doesn’t rely on digestion.

🩺

Provider-Directed Dosing

Your physician specifies the exact Venofer dosage and schedule on the referral form, and our medical team reviews your labs before your first session.

🏥

Clinical, In-Office Care

Every infusion is performed at our Fort Myers clinic by a Licensed RN under physician supervision — not a pop-up lounge or kiosk.
